Criminal History Requirement
All public school district employees must submit to the criminal history record check at their own expense.  This process must be completed prior to employment.

 
New Jersey Residency Requirement
Pursuant to N.J.S.A 52:14-7, also know as the 'New Jersey First Act', all newly hired public employees, including public school district employees, must reside in the State of New Jersey unless exempted under the law.

If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date of hire to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not wish to do so, you are subject to removal from your position.
 
Teacher Certification
Teacher Candidates who are invited to interview must produce a copy of their New Jersey State Certification at the time of interview.
