Today there was an emergency lockdown at Mary Bray.  We were notified by the Mt. Ephraim police that a situation was taking place on Kings Highway which required the school to take precautions. There was no indication that any threat existed in the building.

There was no threat communicated regarding Kershaw School and no directive was given to lock down Kershaw, however, the school was locked down out of precaution.

All staff and students followed correct lockdown procedures.

We remained in lockdown for about 10 minutes after which we were notified by law enforcement that all was safe and we could release the lockdown.

At this time I do not know the details of what was taking place on Kings Highway involving the police.

All staff and students did an excellent job. How they handled themselves gives me great confidence that we are well-prepared for emergencies.
